Server Reliability and Performance
Hosting starts with servers. They have to be reliable and powerful. To achieve the necessary processing power and reliability, each of our servers is configured as follows:
Power
Server power boils down to processing and caching power.
Shared hosting environment demands fast responses at heavy loads. Each Titanium Line's server has 4 XEON CPU's running on 2.66 GHz. |
2 GB of RAM are present within each server to ensure enough virtual space for caching and less disk read/write operations. |
Reliability
Server reliability is based on many redundant factors.
RAID1 is used for maximum data protection at runtime.
RAID1 is a technique in which data is written to two hard drives simultaneously. If one drive fails, the other one will continue to function and keep the system operational. |
Each server has a nightly backup drive.
Each night, all data from the main RAID1 storage is transferred to this drive. In the unlikely case of both RAID1 drives failing, all data can be restored from this drive. |
Two power supplies on each server ensure maximum power reliability. Each power supply is hot swappable, i.e. if it fails, it can be unplugged and new one can be plug in, all while the other power supply powers up the system. This eliminates downtime in case of power supply failure. |
Redundant Fiber optical connections ensure maximum connectivity to the rest of the world. |
